FAQs

  • Who is Campus Companion a good fit for?

Campus Companion is designed for families who want extra peace of mind while their student is away at school. Our service is especially helpful for:

Parents of teens moving away for the first time – Offering comfort as students adjust to independence and giving parents reassurance during the transition.

Parents or guardians who live far from campus – Ensuring a trusted Compass can be there quickly, even when you’re hours, or states, away.

Families of students with medical challenges or chronic conditions – Providing an extra layer of support during urgent care visits, hospital check-ins, or health-related concerns.

Parents with demanding work or travel schedules – Giving you confidence that someone reliable can step in when you can’t.

Guardians of international or out-of-state students – Bridging the gap when distance makes immediate presence impossible.

In short, Campus Companion is for any family that wants the assurance of a caring, professional presence when their student needs it most.

  • Is Campus Companion a medical service or babysitting service?

No. Campus Companion is not a medical provider, caregiver, or babysitting service. Our Compasses do not diagnose, treat, or transport students. Instead, we act as trusted companions—being there for your student in moments of need, offering calm guidance, and keeping you informed until you can connect with your child directly.

Our role is simple but powerful:

Presence: A friendly, supportive face for your student at a stressful time.

Advocacy: Looking out for their best interest and ensuring they’re not alone.

Communication: Providing timely updates so you feel connected, even from a distance.

We exist to fill the gap between “no one is there” and “family can arrive,” giving you peace of mind at a moment’s notice.

  • What can a Compass do?

Our Compasses are here to provide support, reassurance, and communication, not medical or caregiving services.

    What Compasses can do:

Meet your student at hospitals, urgent care centers, or campus locations.

Offer companionship and a calming presence during stressful moments.

Relay timely updates to parents and guardians.

Advocate for your student’s comfort by ensuring they aren’t alone while waiting for care or family.

Serve as a trusted, professional point of contact between your student and their family.

We are there to bridge the gap until family can arrive, giving you peace of mind when it matters most.

  • Do you provide transportation for students?

No. Campus Companion does not provide or arrange transportation. Instead, our Compasses meet students at locations such as urgent care clinics, hospitals, or campus offices to provide comfort, advocacy, and updates to families.

  • How does Campus Companion work?

Once a family signs up and completes the necessary forms (including HIPAA releases when needed), your student gains access to our services. When a situation arises, we dispatch a Compass to meet your student, offer support, and keep you informed.

  • What kinds of situations can a Compass help with?

Compasses assist in urgent care visits, emergency room check-ins, campus health concerns, stressful moments when a student needs someone present, or times when a friendly, trustworthy face helps while waiting for family to arrive.

  • Who are the Compasses?

Compasses are carefully selected, trained individuals who specialize in student support. They are empathetic, professional, and dedicated to guiding students through moments of need while keeping families informed every step of the way.

  • How do families stay updated during an incident?

Your assigned Compass communicates directly with you, providing real-time updates so you’re never left in the dark. We bridge the gap until you can connect with your student in person.

  • How is Campus Companion different from campus staff or friends?

While universities offer support staff and peers may be nearby, our Compasses are dedicated solely to your student’s well-being and your peace of mind. We combine presence, professionalism, and consistent family updates in a way that neither staff nor peers can guarantee.
